MUMBAI: Helena Bonham Carter is speaking in support of Johnny Depp in the libel case. The actor took the British newspaper The Sun to court after he was called a “wife-beater” in connection to claims made by his ex-wife Amber Heard. In July, Johnny and Amber were in court for weeks during the trial. The ruling in the case will be revealed on Monday.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Helena said, “There’s something quite old-fashioned about Johnny, with these manners – none of it makes sense. But the man’s not stupid. He wouldn’t have gone to this length if he thought he was in the wrong.” Some of the movies that Helena and Johnny did together include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, Dark Shadows, and The Lone Ranger.
