10 thoughts that will hit diehard daily soap fans after watching Game of Thrones

Recently the news of an Indian adaptation of Game of Thrones made all the fans survive a mini heart attack. While we wondered how the entire venture is going to shape up, diehard daily soap fans started wondering what the fuss is all about.

Without hurting anyone’s sentiment, here we are going present you with some Epic thoughts that will occur to the mind of a true daily soap fan after watching the cult classic. Take a look…

Valar Morghulis (All men must die)

Did you just say Valar Morghulis? Well we believe in the phrase ‘Valar Dohaeris’ (All men must serve). And perhaps that is the only reason why Mihir Virani (Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) to Sujal Garewal (Kahiin to Hoga) to Anurag Basu (Kasautii Zindagii Kay) to many other actors comes back to life from corpse. In our daily soaps, no one dies before serving. Sorry.

Faceless Man
What do you mean by a faceless man? Indian audiences are well aware about plastic surgeries. We know when Rachana Parulkar can turn into Asha Negi or Prachi Desai can turn into Gurdeep Kohli. When there is medical science then what is need of watching ‘illogical’ plot of a faceless man?

Incest

Oh please don’t make the Pavitra Rishta of a brother and sister so impure. But falling for own sister’s husband or fiancé, that too for generations after generations, is perhaps the purest of all bonds, one Pavitra Rishta indeed. (We rest our case)

Illegitimate children

Do you actually want me to believe that an illegitimate child is called Snow in the North? Our deshi telly world is way more ahead than this. Isn’t it? In our daily dramas not only that the illegitimate child lives with their family but also share the same family name. It’s not Snow, but Karan Virani and Piya Dobriyal.

Tears aren’t a woman’s only weapon

Of course ‘Tears aren’t a woman’s only weapon’, Maa ke hath ka thappad is always there. We don’t follow any vulgar ways of Cersei or Margaery; to make our children sanskari or to teach the bad man a lesson, a slap from Ishi Maa is enough.

Strong women characters

What do you mean by we don’t have strong women characters in daily dramas? Even if our leading ladies are business tycoon (Akshara) or an IPS officer (Sandhya) at the end of the day she will cook for her family. After all the only way to become a strong woman is to posses some excellent culinary skills. (Period)

Evil in-laws

Like mother-in-law like daughter-in-law. Why they are showing such evil Saasu moms and their equally evil Bahu Ranis? Isn’t the one supposed to be the wicked witch while the other should be the victim of all their abuses?

Hate+Marriage =Love

Hero does not like heroine, heroine does not like hero, they get married and they fall in love, simple. Think about Arnav and Khushi (Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon) and more recently LD and Radha (Mere Rang Mein Rangnewali), how sweet they are. But wait, what the hell is going on in GoT? As per the desi formula if Tyrion and Sansa are married then aren’t they supposed to fall in love? We hate Ramsay Bolton only for this reason (Grrrrr).

Capital Punishment

Did we just hear Ned Stark was beheaded? Are you serious? We have Arohi (Kitani Mohabbat Hai) and Shikhar (Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi), who can save Arjun and Ishani from capital punishment, without the consent of the President of the country. We guess the makers can borrow them.

Dragons

To be honest dragons are too old fashioned and too mainstream. So, we have modern age ‘hot’ and sexy Garudas (Mahakumbh) like Gautam Rode. No extra expenses for animation and visual effects. (Wink wink)
