So, it’s Poila Boisakh today… a day when all the Bengalis put effort to look their best. Tellychakkar.com caught up with a few Bengali TV actors to know what they would be flaunting on the first day of the Bengali New Year.
Anindita Bose: This year I am experimenting a lot with ‘shirt dresses’. So, on nababarsha, I might experiment with an Indianised shirt dress. I will pair it up with some really nice oxidised jewellery.
Yash Dasgupta: I haven’t planned anything as such. I don’t plan for any event in advance. My brain kicks in at the last moment. Also, I have no fixed preferences as such. So, whatever I feel like wearing at that moment I will wear.
Prapti Chatterjee: I have not planned anything special as I will remain busy with shooting. If I were not occupied with work, I would have worn a dhakai or a ghicha saree matched with a pair of simple earring and a wrist watch. I like to wear traditional attires on Bengali occasions.
Sweta Bhattacharya: I will wear anarkali. Actually, I am not much into western outfits. Sometimes I do wear jeans paired with stylish tops but I love Indian attires the most.
Rehaan Roy: My style statement for this Poila Baisak has to be very simple, comfortable and light. Looking at the heat outside, I feel I would keep it really simple. Recently I visited Dubai so I bought lovely pants, tracks etc. So I think I would probably wear a track pant from Zara with a lovely white T-shirt as white is my all time favourite and is the most soothing colour. And the best part about this look is it’s very comfortable.
Jasmine Roy: By heart I am Baangali so on Poila Baishak I like to wear traditional attire. Every year on this occasion I purchase salwar kameez. I am fond of anarkali pieces so I might wear one in black colour.
Debottam Majumder: In this unbearable hot weather I cannot think anything else other than shorts and sleeveless T-shirts. It is going to be hottest Poila Baishak of my life.
Shaurja Bhattacharya: This year I will wear pajama Panjabi paired with nagrai shoes. Although I wanted to wear a dhoti but I could not purchase a matching one at the last moment. So I will have to content myself with a pajama.
Chandni Saha: I feel I can carry off any attire be it a hot pant, a saree, a skirt or anything. But I cannot imagine myself wearing a hot pant on nababarsha. I will wear something in ethnic.
