They do it in the hope of a happy and safe life for their husbands. The festival of Karva Chauth is an age-old Hindu tradition practiced fervently in North Indian and all across the world wherein women dress up and keep a fast for the well-being, success and good health of their spouses. All said and done, it’s not unusual for things to change with passing time. Earlier, during the festival, women applied henna on their hands, bought clothes and exchanged gifts with their loved ones. Now the paradigm has shifted a bit. In the jet age, the fairer sex has rather extravagant preparations like diamond facial, body spa treatment, chemical peel treatments et al.
