TV celebs talk about Ganesh Chaturthi festivities

The eleven day long festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is going on in full flow. Although a lot many have already bid a teary farewell to their Ganpati, the festivities are still on.
Tellychakkar.com thus decided to speak to some of your favourite TV celebs and get them talking about what the festival means to them and how they celebrate the day.

Divyanka Tripathi: It's actually a festival to bring people together. I love decorating Ganesha's shrine and making prasad. The saddest moment is letting him go during Visarjans. I am very fond of ganpati festival since the time I am in Mumbai. I like eating modaks too. The festive fervor makes me feel very positive.

Ashish Sharma: Ganeshji has blessed me with a lot of happiness and success in life; it has been a wonderful year so far. This festival holds high importance for both Archana (Taide) and me; we will be celebrating together with family and friends once again. There is a magical spell around all of us which beckons us to come out and rejoice and celebrate and make merry. I pray to Bappa to bless us with good health, make me a stronger person and spread positive energy all around.
Sanaya Irani: Ganesh Chaturthi brings with it a feeling of happiness and peace. We welcome and celebrate the festival every year. Our family has been following the tradition of bringing a Ganesha idol home since the past few years. This tradition started with my sister who always carried an idol of Ganeshji with her. Our celebrations are very warm and affectionate as we spend the day with family and only limited close friends attending. Each year I make sure to take the day off from work and celebrate this auspicious day with Ganeshji.

Vahbiz Dorabjee: The city enjoys the festival as if there is no tomorrow. I think of Ganesha as a messenger of peace and happiness. He brings happiness on the faces of people who celebrate the festival with love and bhakti.  I expect Ganpati bappa to give health and happiness to everyone.

Gunjan Utreja: Over the past few years that I have been in Mumbai I have attended lot of ganpati pujas at my friends place. Now this festival feels as important as Diwali. In our industry the schedules are hectic but during Ganpati the fact that we can sing and be awake all night for great conversations is the highlight of this festival.  I never get an opportunity to sing when I am around my professional singer friends. It's only at ganpati festival that I get to sing and they can't stop me.  So it's a big high for me.

Mouni Roy: Ganesh Chaturthi is that festival when everyone across the country is busy with plans and preparations to make the festival a special one. While I do not particularly bring the idol at home, I do ensure I celebrate with friends. I urge people to opt for eco-friendly idols and avoid any harm to our environment.

Ssharad Malhotraa: This is my fourth consecutive year that I will be hosted the Ganpati puja with great pomp and joy. There's a saying that if you wish for something don't be vocal about it and just keep it to yourself or else it might get jinxed. But definitely there's a common wish every year that may God bless my family, relatives and all my friends with lots of love, happiness and good health.

Sunil Grover: Ganpati is the Lord of Riddhi-Siddhi and a blessing for new beginnings. There is great energy in the air with everyone celebrating the home-coming of their favourite idol. It is a festival that brings people together. I remember when we used to go to my masi’s place for Ganpati. All of us cousins used to gather at her house and have fun till late in the night. My favourite part was the huge jar of ladoos that I used to take home and lap it up within a month’s time, savouring the taste.
And this Ganpati season, order delicious sweets from M M Mithaiwala. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Happy Ganpati to all!!!
