Why we love Drashti's new avatar as Gayatri

Drashti Dhami as Gayatri

We are all suckers for a royal series. We want to know how the Maharajas and Maharanis of the ear gone by lived. And here’s one show on Zee TV, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, which captures the essence of a regal empire in a fascinating fashion. Drashti Dhami, who plays the gorgeous Gayatri Seth, is simply a class apart on the show. We tell you why we like her in her vintage avatar. Take a look:

Her childlike innocence:

Her candor and naivete will make you fall in love with her. Whenever she’s on the screen, she exudes warmth and purity. May be it’s the way her character has shaped up to be or it’s Drashti’s natural acting, we wouldn’t know! But whatever it is, we are happy that her simplicity is the highlight of this magnum opus.

Loving and caring:

Whether it’s her love for Ranaji, respect and affection for her parents or consideration for everybody, it’s her loving and caring nature that makes her our favorite. Kudos to Drashti for not going over-the-top in the lovey-dovey scenes. We also love how she shows her affection through her eyes more than her words. It takes a powerful actress to emote via her expressions alone.

Her vintage look:

From fluffy-sleeved blouses to intricate buns to colorfully stunning saris, Gayatri’s look is right out of a story book. We love how it takes us back to the past without interfering with the flow. That is to say that the clothes and accessories complement the story. Ladies, have you already taken tips from her looks for the upcoming festive season? *wink*

Her positive attitude:

Even though she lost her fiance' at a young age and was branded ‘unlucky’ by everybody, she didn’t let the smile fade from her face. She maintains a positive outlook and perhaps that’s why she was able to bump into Ranaji. Even when her sister-in-law nags her to no end, she doesn’t give it much importance. She remains cool during the worst of times.

Her dialogue delivery:

It’s always fascinating to listen to the dialogues of the ancient times because the twang was so different. The richness of the words, combined with the delicacy of Gayatri’s dialogue delivery, make her one of the most adorable features of the show. We would also like to mention her mesmerising voice, which transports us to the palatial gates of Ranaji and Gayatri.

Do you like Gayatri as much as we do? Let us know!
