Smriti's Bong connection!

Not many know that Smriti Z Iraani the favourite bahu on Star Plus speaks fluent Bangla. Reason? Her mother's a Bengali! She does everything that a true blue Bengali would do during pujo- the anjali, enjoying the bhog, gorging on kheer kodmbo, watching jatra, buying new clothes, playing shidoor khela and most importantly, the mughlai parathas which she gets to eat only during the pujas .

"Back home in Delhi I used to frequent various pandals with my family but in Mumbai, I try to adjust my work with the puja timings. Besides, I have a few Bong friends in the unit, so it's great! Also, I don't believe in mixing work with the festival so I'd rather have Maa Durga be the perfect chief guest and not be called for any sort of an appearance during Pujo," she gushes … Riding the band wagon! Wearing funky headbands seems to be the latest fad in tellyville. Both Vikram Acharya and Rohit Roy were spotted sporting colourful headbands at parties last week. Rohit's obsession with T-shirts is a known thing, but this seems to be something else! And this is not all, the guy seems to have traded the age old cigarettes for the more sophisticated (?*?) cigars! The band (on the head!), the funky T-shirts (on the bod!) and a cigar (in the mouth) -- maketh man a fashion icon? Hmmm. Gauri's Bong lingo! Ever wondered how Gauri Pradhan perfected her Bong diction in Star One's Special Squad? The lady who plays forensic expert Deepika Ghosh on the thriller, doesn't really speak a word of Bangla. Then how does she manage to mouth those casual Bangla terms and phrases with nonchalance? Well, we recently found out that all the homework is done for her by a co-star who chooses not to talk about it. The pucca Maharashtrian lass is taking lessons from this Bong co-star, who writes down the words she has to speak, in Devnagri script! No wonder then, that she hardly shows any sign of an accent! Great team work, we say! Anvesha's locks in trouble? It's difficult to keep up with one's image...no one knows this more than the bindaas babe, Priya Wal, who almost lost the red streak in her hair during the 26 July deluge! "It's fading...I have to redo it...," laments the gal, who has taken tellydom by storm with her no nonsense attitude! Priya, who plays Anvesha in the teen show, Remix is very popular among the kids for her whacky sense of dressing and her eccentric ways! Surely, Ashi without the tell patent red locks, will not be the brat we know!
