The quirky world of television is full of stars, starry mood swings, the rat race for the stellar roles and lots more...
Whassup Sandhya?
Caught up with the sexy-n-dusky Sandhya Mridul (remember her cameo in Jassi… sometime ago?) at the music launch of Madhur Bhandarkar's Page 3 which is due in December end. Sandhya is a brash girl with an 'I care a damn' attitude who relishes smoking and drinking- in the film! "I shot for VJ Luke Kenny's directorial venture - 13th Floor and an English play Zen Katha with Lilette Dubey. I have just come back after shooting my role in Samar Khan's debut venture Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye (which has Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo) in Malaysia. And again, I am going abroad for the shoot of another film- The Great Indian Butterfly opposite Aamir Bashir," she gushes. Now that's what we call having your hands full!
Iravati's back on Pali Hill
If you've been wondering about Iravati Harshe in K Street Pali Hill for the past few episodes (actually, quite a few episodes), you may stop worrying. The charming lady is all set to return. No, there was no tiff with Ekta, in case you guys have an hyperactive imagination. Ira was away in Malaysia, shooting for the same venture as Sandhya.
'Kitni Mast…' scores a hat trick
Ekta Kapoor's Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi may have just seen the light of day, but the show has already seen three directors. Whether it was Ekta or the channel (MTV) that wanted a change, we ain't telling. What we will share is those who were sacrificed at the directorial altar- Sanjay Bhatia and Partho Mishra. No prizes for guessing who has taken over. Ekta's man of crisis- Anil Kumar, currently holding the reins in Kahiin To Hoga. Remember how this man set Kkusum and Kahiin To Hoga on a smooth journey after all those initial hiccups? Meanwhile, we now know that the KMHZ has been an extension till 80 episodes, instead of the planned 39 episodes.
Nigar turns do-gooder
Nigar Khan, who's played a vamp on television, gets her first chance to be good. She will soon be seen playing an out an out positive character, Gita Shankaran, who's based in Malaysia. Says Nigar, "After playing a negative character in a couple of serials, this positive role comes like a breath of fresh air. As an actress, I will now get a chance to showcase another aspect of my personality, that of a nice, good girl." Another entrant into the show is Ashish Kaul who plays the character of Ranveer Bhatia, an international businessman who eventually gets married into the Oberoi family.
Dubai start for Stop!
Astitva director Ajai Sinha is making a splash with his debut feature film Stop! And how! Sinha carted his cast comprising Ishita Arun, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Rocky Bhatia and Gauri Karnik to the desert city for a world premiere on 2 November. Not surprising, since the film has been shot in Dubai itself. Bollywood star Om Puri who also features in the flick about life's little joys and failures, also attended the lavish do, we hear.
