Rohit Shetty hits a hat trick with the success of his latest flick All The Best. The man loves to make people laugh and so far he has managed to do so successfully. So it was a natural extension for him to come as a judge of Sony’s Comedy Circus- Teena Ka Tadka. As it is for the first time that he will be seen on television as a judge he was nervous as hell. TellyChakkar catches up with the director to know about his stint as a judge, his nervousness and more. Why have you asked your family to not watch the first episode? That’s because my entry is very funny. I have been introduced in such a style that I am sure people will roll over the floor laughing. I will be seen directly landing in the centre of the stage and I was nervous while doing the scene and you can make that out from my face. Later I laughed thinking about my entry and all my friends will sure make a joke about it. That’s why I asked my family not to watch the first episode of the show. You have always been associated with comedy, so was judging a comedy show a natural extension? Actually yes or shall I say kind of. I have watched this show many times and let me tell you that I love this show. There are so many talented actors and comedians here who successfully tickle your ribs. I have watched all the seasons of the show and I am very impressed with the kind of talent the show has. Hence when I was approached to judge the show I agreed immediately. I have always been associated with comedy, so if I judge a dance show it will sound very funny. So I picked up what I enjoy doing, comedy. You said that you are very nervous, but you are not new to this industry. So what makes you say so? Actually this is for the first time that people will watch me on a show and I was nervous on the first day of the shoot thinking about the response I will get. I was also taking rounds of the sets to make sure everything goes well. The funny part was that the contestants and others thought that I was an assistant director. Everybody was surprised when they saw me sitting in the judge’s chair. Making a comedy movie is very difficult. It takes a lot of hard work to make a movie which is funny, but judging a funny show will be easy. I will just have to sit and enjoy and will have to give marks accordingly. Will you be very strict as a judge? No, I will neither be very goody-goody nor will I be very harsh. I will just see to it that I am enjoying the show, and will judge them accordingly. If the actors are good and if the script is good, I don’t think there will be any problems. I also don’t want to be biased here. I know Sanjay Mishra who has worked in my movies very well and I also know Jimmy Moses so I will be very careful while giving marks to them. For me all of them are actors and I will judge them according to their performances. I don’t want them to think that I am being partial to anyone. According to you, who has the most talented comedian in the industry? I think its Govinda. Though I have not worked with him yet, I find him hilarious. He has a very good sense of humour and he is quick witted.
