Over the years, Manish Paul has emerged as one of the most fascinating anchors on Indian television. Currently, he is anchoring Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and will soon be seen hosting India’s Got Talent (Colors) along with Cyrus Sahukar. He is a great friend of mine and as guest editor at Tellychakkar.com, I decided to chat with him and file a small interview. Excerpts… How has your journey been in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa so far? It has been amazingly good. It has taken my life to a different level altogether. People have started liking the show and are appreciating so much. I really feel humbled and blessed. You are even anchoring India’s Got Talent (IGT)? Yes… with Cyrus Sahukar. We are ‘MAD’ people and we are having a great time shooting together. Which show do you enjoy anchoring more…Jhalak or IGT? I enjoy both; it’s basically what I am best at. I and Cyrus have a great bonding and my rapport with Ragini Khanna (co host of Jhalak) is also very good. It is believed that you have over-shadowed Ragini Khanna with your performance in Jhalak? No… she is a wonderful actress and a great human being. I have been doing anchoring for quite some time now, hence I may have an edge. But she is a quick learner and is doing a fabulous job. It’s said you and Bharti joke a lot on the sets of Jhalak? Yes… we have a blast. She has a black Audi and I always joke that her Audi is up for sale. We also say her car doesn’t have petrol. She is a sport and jokes about it. You are floored by Madhuri Dixit… aren’t you? Yes… I have grown up seeing Madhuri Dixit. I just love her beauty and she has no airs. She is very down to earth. And she is awesome and quite humble off-screen too. Now share something about your angel…your daughter? I love my daughter Saisha and she is wonderful. I love spending time with her. Tell us something about your upcoming movie? My movie is called Oye Mickey and co-incidentally Mickey is also my pet name. It will go on floors from November. I can’t talk much about it. And finally…share something about me… Alok Narula? Well… he is my best friend and my brother. He has a great body and I wish I get to work with him one day.
