I don’t like to talk about my personal life: Aham Sharma

The Wise Man once said, ‘Life is what you make of it’. And actor Aham Sharma is on a sworn path to emerge as one of the finest performers in recent times.

We must admit, that his effort has not gone in vain.

Currently enacting the role of Rishabh in Zee TV’s thriller drama Brahmarakshas, Aham, with his Greek God looks and impeccable acting dexterity, is the ‘go to’ man for TV producers and content creators.

He rose to Aonian heights of fame playing Karn in the hit Star Plus show Mahabharat and later added a touch of versatility as the ‘grey shaded’ Arjun in Manmarziyan.

We decided to catch up with the talented thespian and learn more about his personality, his professional goals, and life in general. Here are excerpts from the interview:

I am glad to portray the role of Rishabh

After Mahabharat and Manmarziyan, I found the plot of Brahmarakshas very different and intriguing.  Rishabh is a fun loving guy and he likes to keep people around him happy. I am glad to portray the role of Rishabh.

Ratings don’t affect me

Manmarziyan was not a typical daily soap. I had a performance driven role and it challenged me as an actor. Ratings don’t affect me. My aim is to do justice to my character. If the show rates well or not, is not in my hands.

I don’t think my character will get sidelined in Brahmarakshas

As I mentioned, my focus is to perform well. If I don’t do justice to my role it will disappoint me as a person and as a professional. But I don’t think my character will get sidelined. There is a lot of thriller and suspense element which viewers will enjoy watching.

I don’t mind doing more mytho shows

I have no problem taking up more mythological shows post the success of Mahabharat. Having said that, the script and my character should have merit.

I am happy to be associated with Balaji Telefims

Well, Brahmarakshas is a bi-weekly. It’s one of the reasons why I said yes to the project, apart from it being a thriller. Being a Balaji Telefilms project, it’s always quite enriching and enlivening to work with the production house.

I have faced many rejections in life

Rejection makes you strong and it helps you to grow in life. It makes you evolve as a person. I have faced many and have taken all in stride. I have grown personally and professionally.

Some reality shows are fine for me

When it comes to reality shows, I am not someone who likes to go gaga about myself. Thus, chances of controversies are very less. Hence, shows which need spice might not be my pick. However, a talent based reality series could find a fit with my personality.

People say that I sing well

I love singing and people do say that I sing well. I perform martial arts and that side of mine is yet to be explored on TV.

I don’t like to talk about my personal life

I am not comfortable talking about my personal life. I like to talk about my work. Let my hardwork do all the talking.
