I feel bad when a contestant loses a huge amount: Ronit Roy

Ronit Roy

Ronit Roy isn’t frequently hailed as the Amitabh Bachchan of the small screen for nothing. He's not just a great actor, but is also extremely courteous when interacting with media persons.

The actor’s new show Deal or No Deal, currently airing on &TV, marks his return as a host.

In a session with the media, Ronit Roy answered all sorts of questions. Read the interview here….

Do you think this show will bring all the families closer?

I think when a family goes together for any event or outing then it is a grand affair for them. May be they have played such games or may not have. But at this time, when a family comes together for this game, then there will be definitely love and a great bond between them.

On the show, there are moments when a person has to choose between two things. Have you come across such situations?

Yes, many times. There is a saying in English that fits my personality and that is ‘I regret the things that I did not do’. I never regret about the things that I do.

As you have shot for few episodes, do you feel sad for the people who lose 1 crore box?

I feel bad. The entire structure of the show is that I am real. If I feel bad then it is no reason to hide it. If I feel for you that does not mean I am neutral, so why hide your emotions. It is a show of emotions. So if you cry for a contestant then that is ok.

Why did you take up this show as you already have so many things?

It’s a great show to do. This is something different as an actor and human being I like experimenting. This is a high energy show where I am meeting new people. I am meeting different types of families. Everybody comes to me and tells me that they love me so much.

This show is more about probability than talent. So don’t you think this is  like gambling?

No, gamble is that thing where you keep your valuable things on stake. Here we are not telling any contestant to keep their things on stake. There were a lot of contestants who said that we have just come with our family to spend some time with you.

All the best for the new show.
