He is surely one actor who has grown steadily over the past few years. With his debut show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Aamir Ali shot up the popularity charts. The model turned actor is currently busy with the Sahara Show Woh Rehne Wali Mahlon Ki. In a tete-tete with Prashant Golecha, the actor gives a glimpse into his personal and professional life.

What's the real Aamir Ali like?
Smiles….Aamir is a simple, straightforward and a no non-sense kind of a guy. His penchant for adventure has seen him travel all over, thanks to my mom for that.

What's the real Aamir Ali like?
Smiles….Aamir is a simple, straightforward and a no non-sense kind of a guy. His penchant for adventure has seen him travel all over, thanks to my mom for that.
When you look back at your career, how has the journey been so far?
I was a college student and took up flying with Air-Sahara. Soon after I started getting modelling offers. Cheeta Bhi Peeta hai, the caption line of my ad for Mountain Dew made me noticeable. After that I kept doing ads with Pradeep Sarkar. Then I did a film called Yeah Kya Ho Raha Hai, which was an average at the box office. After this film I decided to do serious projects and took up the role of Samir in Kahaani...
But you disappeared suddenly from Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki?
Actually my character Samir was not moving forward and the generation leap was happening. I discussed this issue with the creative people from Balaji and we mutually decided to part ways. I never had any conversation with Ekta Kapoor on that. But I still share a great professional relationship with Ekta Kapoor and Balaji.
Has Balaji offered you anything post your exit from Kahaani?
No. Nothing like that.
How did you bag the Sahara show, Woh Rahne Wali Mahlon Ki?
I never tried too hard to get that role. Infact it was Rajshree Productions who called me and told me about the show. Since the role sounded great, I had a meeting with Kavita Bharjataya and accepted the offer.
What really attracted you to Woh Rehne Wali Mahlo Ki?
Well, the show is a beautiful love story between two characters, Pari, played by Reena Kapoor and Saumya played by me. The show allows me to play a character that I haven't attempted before. For an actor nothing is as great as playing varied roles. Now, my character is going through a transformation phase and I am sure the audience is going to love it equally.
You are friendly with Reena Kapoor as well as Poonam Joshi. Whom do you like the more?
They are both great pals of mine. Though I have worked with Reena for quite some time but I am very fond of Poonam Joshi. The reason being that Poonam is crazier while Reena is a sweet sober kinds.
You were linked with Minisha Lamba and Mahek. Comment.
Both of the girls are great human beings and it's great to be linked with them. I know both of them since a long time now and whenever we bump into social parties we meet as friends. I have never worked with Minisha but me and Mahek have worked together in the forthcoming film Anjaan.
Since you are single describe your dream woman.
She has to be a dream woman. Laughs!!
Which medium do you prefer, television or films?
There's nothing like being choosy about the mediums. Both are creative platforms. What really drives me is acting. If I am getting a great role, I would lap it up irrespective of the medium it belongs to.
Recently it was reported in a leading tabloid that you refused the offer of the lead in Kulvaddhu?
Kulvaddhu is something I don't want to talk about. All I can say is that it is a good show.
What is common between you and Aamir Khan?
Besides the first name there is no similarity. He is one of my favourite actors. He is far better looking and far talented actor than me.
Are you considered a chocolate type of a guy?
I might be. Thanks to my mother and father and also Balaji and Rajshree production for presenting me nicely.
What's the difference you found working for Balaji and Rajshree's?
Rajshree's are known to be sweet and they are actually sweet. Balaji is known to be a troublesome production house but they are not. Balaji is very professional and I had a great time working for Balaji.
What are your future plans?
At the moment I am busy with Woh Rehne Wali….plus I am doing up the new house I have recently purchased. I hope things would shape up fine for me in the coming time.
