The very independent and strong television actress Dalljiet Kaur, who has had a troubled personal life owing to getting separated from her husband Shaleen Bhanot, has made a comeback with Zee TV’s newly launched social drama Kaala Teeka.

The project produced by DJ’s - A Creative Unit, narrates the journey of a girl child Kaali who is treated as a human Kaala Teeka for another girl Gauri.

Dalljiet who plays the mother’s role of Manjari, had a heart-to-heart conversation where she spoke about her comeback and on her personal life. 

Firstly, tell us why did you choose to make your comeback with this show?

When this show was offered to me I had many questions in my mind.  The best part was that the storyline was very intriguing and I was sure it will connect with every individual. Such types of shows are not made very frequently and that is why I chose to make a comeback with it.

How superstitious are you in real life?

Well, I recently changed my name from Daljeet to Dalljiet Kaur as per numerology. It’s not a superstition, but a belief. There are times in our life when we start believing in spirituality. But bringing a little change to the spelling has worked for me. As soon as I did that, I signed the contract for my new show.

Apart from being superstitious are you religious too?

Yes, I am a staunch Shiva devotee and I make sure to worship Lord Shiva every Monday.

Being the single parent, how are you going to manage shooting?

It is very difficult for both of us but I am left with no choice. My son is two years now, so I will have to be more protective and careful. I am still figuring out how I am going to manage.

Usually actors don’t prefer making comeback soon after pregnancy, but you seem to be all cool?

The one thing that I want to tell all the aspiring mothers is that it is not a big deal. I agree there is lot of weight gain, but if you have dedication to work on yourself then there is no one to stop you. I had made a mindset that I won’t go for auditions very soon after my pregnancy. I knew that people would offer me only aged and matured characters, which I did not wish to play.

How difficult is it to handle your kid being the single parent?

Single mother status is difficult. I am here right now talking to you as I have to earn for my baby. Once I reach home I am his mother taking care of him. I want to do well so that I can set an example for all single mothers.

Any regrets in life?           

I am happy with whatever decisions I have taken. Some have worked while some didn’t, but I have no regrets.

Are you fine with falling in love all over again?

I am in love and I have found my soul mate and that is my son. And my orientation right now is to take care of him.

Will you do reality shows in future?

Yes, why not? Give me money and I will go for it.

Why did you reject Bigg Boss?

I can’t stay without my kid for three months. I don’t mind participating in the coming seasons of Bigg Boss.
