I would love to play a sexy role: Ratan Rajpoot

Ratan Rajpoot

After portraying popular characters in shows like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Mahabharat, MTV Fanaah, Ratan Rajpoot took a break from television in 2014. The talented actress made her comeback in 2015 in the role of as the vulnerable and soft-spoken, devotee of Maa Santoshi on &TV’s Santoshi Maa.

Tellychakkar.com had an exclusive chat with the actress about her shows, regrets, Bigg Boss, marriage and more…

Excerpts:

Santoshi Maa raked in top TRP in the first week itself, how as your reaction?

The response was amazing in the first week itself. I was very happy that audiences welcomed us with open arms. I also feel it’s the blessing of god too.

You seem to prefer only desi characters, why so?

(Laughs) It's not like that! I think audiences like me in a simple avatar. In Fanaah and Mahabharat, my look was different and modern.

If given a chance, would you love to play a sexy and bold role onscreen?

Anytime! I am open to any role as I am an actor but it should suit me and be realistic. Whatever my producer tell me to do, I will do it. The day I become a producer, I will my way.

Do you have any regrets in life?

I have no regrets. Swayamvar and Bigg Boss are all part of my life’s journey and it was a different experience. I am happy with the kind of work that I have done.

In an interview, you mentioned that doing Bigg Boss was the biggest mistake...

The day I came out of the Bigg Boss house, my mental condition was not stable. I came out of a different surrounding so it was a sudden shock for me. At that's moment, I felt Bigg Boss was a wrong decision but now I would say it was a great experience. I am still in touch with Armaan Bhai (Kohli) and Sangram Bhai (Singh).

How are you bonding with your co-stars?

We have an amazing bunch of people on the set. We never feel tired or bored as we keep entertaining each other. We all get our food on the set and share with one another. Recently, I met with an accident and my car got crashed so now my co-stars give me lift to the set.

There was news of you being molested on the set. What happened actually?

It was true and I refused to speak at that time because I did not want publicity. Being a girl, I wanted it to be solved on the set itself. The production house was nice and they did their job, punished the person and now everything is sorted.

Social media is filled with you and Begusarai ladies Rati Pandey and Shweta Tiwari...are you all friends?

Well, we met at Swastik Production’s party and became friends. Recently, team Begusarai decided to go to Goa, they asked me if I was interested to go with them. As I have never been to Goa, I said yes for the trip. I enjoyed a lot with the ladies. Now we have become good friends. We keep chatting and meeting off-screen.

So when are you planning to get married?

(Laughs) Well, nothing is planned yet. But I am not that type of girl who doesn’t want to get married. I will settle down when I find my Mr. Right.  I am very lucky on-screen with marriages... as I have two husbands in my current show. Earlier also I had two boys opposite me.

What qualities do you want in your life partner?

I want a person who can bear me. He should accept me the way I am and still love and pamper me.  Understanding is also an important factor.

Lastly, any message for fans?

Thank you so much. Whatever I am today is only because of you guys and your support. Keep loving and supporting me.

We wish you more success, Ratan!
