Despite all these difference, Diwaker Pundir, who is playing the role of Parikshit Dixit in the popular soap Santaan is a happy man. "I have nothing to complain and am quite happy playing this role. This is the longest show in my career. In fact Santaan is one of the few serials which has been running successfully for more than 1.5 years now," says Diwaker. But isn't it difficult to play a role that is so different from what he is in real life? "It is definitely challenging. All my on-screen children are as old as me or may be a few years younger than me! So it is slightly difficult, but let me tell you that it is immensely challenging and satisfying as well. I do not mind doing it," explains Diwaker. "In fact, every single family in India can relate to what is being shown in the serial," says Diwaker who shares a very good rapport with his on-screen children. At the same time, Diwaker feels that there are elements of commonality between his real and reel life also. "Santaan is the story of parents and the generation gap between them and their children. I can relate to that very well since I have a daughter and am experiencing it myself! She has her own opinions though she is just 3 1/2 years old. " Prior to Santaan, Diwaker rose to fame with Sonu Nigam's music video Deewana where he played the lead role in the title song. He has also done shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Reth, Sindoor, Parivar & Crime Petrol, Ravan. "I have also done eight films but unfortunately none of my films did well at the box office and neither did I gain anything from that. It's through the television medium where people have acknowledged my talent," says Diwaker.
