The term ‘dangerous curves ahead’ suits the hot and sizzling Mouni Roy.
The graceful actress is back on TV with Colors’ Naagin season 2 and for the first time, viewers would watch her playing a double role.
At the recently held media interaction of Naagin 2, Mouni spoke about her character and the show. She also strictly asked us to refrain from asking any personal questions.
She started off the media interaction with , “I would first like to begin this interview by thanking Ekta Kapoor for considering me for Naagin. By the grace of God and audiences’ love, season one did well but we will rewrite history if season 2 does well too. I still remember we were hoping to get 2 plus ratings and were shocked to know that we actually opened up with 4.3 and then 5.8 and later 6 plus. It all happened because of Ekta’s vision, our hard work and the brilliant team."
She added, "I see season 2 doing well. It is a very simple story but every five to ten minutes, you will see a new twist. I am hoping that viewers watch and like Naagin season 2.”
Nice words. Now, let’s cut to the interview.
Excerpts:
Is there any pressure to live-up to the expectations of season 2?
More than pressure, it's expectation. We are doing everything we can. We don’t realise the pressure as we have been working hard. There is no time to worry. I thank my director Anil V Kumar for getting the best out of us.
Are you missing Arjun (Bijlani) (male lead in season 1)?
Arjun is a fun-loving guy and I am sure he is having a gala time shooting for his next project. It is another big upcoming show of Balaji, which also stars my dear friend Drashti Dhami.
How was your association with your season 1 director Santram Verma?
Santram is a task master and knows how to get the best out of you. He is a very disciplined person when it comes to shooting. We don’t go to the sets to make personal relationships, but to work. At the end of the day, he makes sure to create a bank of episodes. I am fortunate to have worked with the biggest names of the industry.
How has life changed post the success of Naagin?
I don’t think my life has changed. I am still following the same routine. I still have the same set of friends. My family is my priority. People around me have changed as they love me and adore my work.
How many times did you laugh over the weird script?
Frankly speaking, we used to laugh every single time. But at the end, we got good numbers.
Whom do you credit your success to?
My father. Whatever goodness I have is because of him. And various people I have met in my life.
Any plans of Bollywood?
Right now, my focus is on Naagin. After that, I will think about it.
Good luck, Mouni!
