What are you busy doing these days?

I am busy participating in workshops for my upcoming web series. It will be on-air on VuClip; it’s an American platform that has come to India now. The story line is too good and that’s why I have given my thumbs up to it. The series will project the transformation of a girl from being nobody to somebody. This is something that even I am dealing with now.  It’s a performance oriented role and we will begin shooting for it soon.

How do you feel about the current trend of web series and finite shows?

I love it and that’s the reason why I was a part of Dahleez too because it was a finite one. Web series and finite series concepts are doing pretty good these days because nobody has the time and patience to keep a track of daily soaps for a longer period of time. I am quite happy to be a part of the change.

You have recently shifted to Mumbai, so how difficult has it been for you to settle down here?

Honestly, it’s like a breeze for me because my mom is here with me. Usually people face a lot of trouble initially because settling here alone is a big challenge. But my parents have been very sweet and supportive. When I decided to shift here, my dad looked for a place and mom is staying along with me now. She doesn’t let me take any tension and that helps me to be focused on my work.

How has Dahleez changed your life?

Initially I was very skeptical because a show usually needs a committed set of audience. In any case, I took a chance. I feel very happy because whenever I used to travel abroad or to any other city in India, people used to recognize me and approach me to get a pic clicked. Only TV can give actors such kind of recognition. Dahleez was a show that was written and portrayed on the canvas in a lovely way. I must say that if I wouldn’t have done Dahleez, I think things would have been different for me. I am glad that I did it.

How often do you get to meet Harshad Arora?

He has started shooting for his show. We try catching up and have get-together with our group of friends whenever we get some time. We have recently met at a peace walk event too.

What about your inclination towards South movies now? What is your preference now; TV shows, web series or movies?

I started getting calls for Dahleez when I was doing my first South movie but it was getting delayed. Meanwhile, I convinced them to allow me to go ahead with Dahleez as it was a finite show. I got detached from the South while doing Dahleez, but I am meeting them again. I believe quality work matters more than quantity. My Bengali movie is set to be released soon.

What kind of roles are you looking forward to play on TV?

I was offered few shows, but film is something that I have started with and I feel it’s good to stay rooted and focused from where you bagan. That’s why I am not immediately looking for TV shows. I am doing films.
