Saas Bina Sasural has gone to another level;it shows you don't need excessive drama to run a show: Ajay Bhalwankar

Endemol is all set to launch their first fiction show Chajje Chajje Ka Pyaar on Sony. TellyChakkar caught up with the head of programming, Ajay Bhalwankar to know about Sony’s association with Endemol and his expectations from the show… Tell us something about the new show Chajje Chajje Ka Pyaar is a story of community living. It’s about how this community lives together and stays together happily. This story is about these two families that form a part of the community- the Sehgals and the Tripathis. It’s about their love and the bond they share in spite of being one group being the land owners and the second, the tenants. The story then is also taken forward by the young generation, Dhruv and Ginny and about their relationship as well. The show is pitted against strong rival shows like Laagi Tujhse Lagan. Comment… I feel it is just a matter of time for any show to pick up. Laagi Tujhse Lagan for that matter was not an instant success and was not faring well for sometime too. I believe that it is just about the content and if your content is better than the audiences will definitely watch the show. What went wrong with Baat Hamari Pakki Hai? Nothing went wrong with it. In fact it was the first show that gave us a rating of one plus in that time slot. We just felt the story had to meet its logical ending and we did not want to unnecessarily stretch it. Saas Bina Sasural has been well received by the audiences. Your comments… Saas Bina Sasural is an interesting concept and I give full credit to Vipul Shah and Sanjeev Sharma from Optimystix for executing the concept well. The concept has been taken to a different level altogether. We have just shown to the audiences how you don’t need excessive drama and fights to make the show a success. There are talks about Aahat coming back, is that true? Aahat has done well for the channel and the audiences will definitely get to see the show back in the near future. I can’t say when but I can say it will come back very soon. Tell us your association with Endemol since now they are venturing into fiction as well. The association with Endemol has been great and we are more than happy to be working with them. This is Endemol’s first fiction show for us and the concept is interesting and I am sure the audiences will like it. Take us through the new projects that have been lined up for Sony I can promise you that a lot of shows are in the pipeline. We will be getting aggressive with the non-fiction shows in the future and some interesting shows are lined up. Lastly, what are your expectations with Chajje Chajje Ka Pyaar? I think the show will definitely work. It is a new concept, a new thought we are introducing and I am sure the audiences will like it.
