The weather is great; lovers go out, have fun together : Kavita Kaushik

Kavita Kaushik
Says Kavita Kaushik whose personal life with boyfriend Karan Grover may have gone kaput but the actress has been living it up on the small screen through her character of the feisty cop, Chandramukhi Chautala in FIR. It’s not that she isn’t offered any new roles; in fact she would have us believe that she is approached for every new season of Comedy Circus but the actress wants to take it easy. She talks to TellyChakkar about her life, FIR, childhood memories and her single status. How connected are you with the FIR character? It is not just one character that I play through this serial but I get to play different characters in it. At times Chautala becomes a macchiwali, banjaran or a Punjaban. She keeps on coming up with these different get- ups in every episode. So thoe character is not stagnant. She dances on all kinds of songs and does these seductive, romantic and happy dances too. She gets to fight, she does romantic scenes. Recently there was this fight sequence where I had to fight with an eight feet tall giant and while doing that I was hurt but after that I had another song sequence. So basically it’s fun being a part of FIR. How did you hurt yourself? There was this rain fight scene I had to do and I had to fight with an eight feet tall giant. I had to jump from four feet high to fight the giant. I told the director I would fall in a puddle to make it look real. And the ground I was going to fall on was a really bad one. But I jumped and the scene was beautifully shot but I got a cut on my hand. But I love doing stunts in FIR. Who gets to do them on TV? Is your life as colourful and eventful as Inspector Chautala’s? No. My life is very simple. It’s not at all complicated as I am single and staying all alone. My family stays in Delhi. I do the usual stuff that most people do like hanging out with friends and hosting parties at home. You were in a relationship with Karan Grover, what went wrong? Some relationships are not meant to be and at times things don’t work out. How were you as a kid? I was very naughty. I used to stay in a hostel as a kid and back then I used to bunk my lectures all the time. I used to go hiding in the toilets in the corridors. I would put my thermometer in the tea; I was the most mischievous kid. What do you shop for the most? I shop for almost everything, shoes, clothes etc. I have like more than 100 pairs of shoes and that too after recycling them. I usually give away most of my shoes to my cousins. Especially whenever my mom comes home, I pack her bag with at least 30 pairs of shoes, mostly for my cousins. I also like these sexy, classy clutches. You are one of the fit stars in the television industry. How many hours do you exercise? I am really lazy. I wake up at 11 in the morning on off days so workout is out of the question. Whatever you see is thanks to my genes. In fact my dad, touchwood, till date is very fit. I am a lot like him so I do not put on much weight unless and until I binge on pastries and chocolates. But, even then I lose weight really fast. During my school days I was very thin. Are you a spiritual person? Yes I am. I go to the church because I was in a convent boarding school and whenever I would feel lonely I would go to the chapel and pray. I can connect more with the Christian way of praying and it is peaceful. Do you like animals? No, I do not like animals but I love them on my plate! Do you have any other projects in hand? I do have Comedy Circus but it’s still at the negotiation stage. Would you like to convey a message to your fans? The weather is great and the lovers should enjoy it because you have someone to be with. Go out, have fun be together.
