Cashin' In sits down with TV celebs to know well they handle their financial matters, and tracks their spending patterns. Being a rich, spoilt brat is his forte! Innumerable times we have seen him play the baddie who lusts after moolah that's not his. But in real life, Akashdeep Saigal is anything but a conniving schemer - he's in fact quite sensible and level headed with regard to his finances. Sameera Kapoor talks to Akashdeep about money matters. So, how do you handle your money? It's my brother who takes care of my financial dealings. So I am not aware of how it's handled. What were the best investments made by you? I have not made any investments as such. However, the expensive electronic gadgets that I have bought could be considered as investments. Of the best thing I have invested in has to be my Home Theatre. Being a star, this questions pops up.. Are you an impulsive buyer? Well, I do buy things if I like it, but I guess I am impulsive in a more sensible way. How much do you spend on yourself, monthly? It could come more or less on the level of Rs10, 000/- Insurance: do you believe in it and have you insured anything? Yes, I do believe that insurance is a good thing to be involved in. I have insured myself. Do you own a car? Is it on loan? I own two cars.I've taken a loan on both of them. How are you by nature when it comes to finances? (example stingy, carefree etc?) I am neither stingy nor carefree. It depends on the situation. The most expensive thing that you have purchased? It has to be my Merc… It's come at a price tag of three million rupees. The most expensive gift you've given to anyone.. It's my love which I rate as the most expensive thing I can give out to anybody. Any other thing which you are very particular about when it comes to your finances? You can never predict beforehand what could happen with regard to the money we actors earn. However, in our circuit, the standard of living is high, so we have match upto it. Hence, being financially wise is a good thing. Do you keep yourself updated on financial matters by reading newspapers? Yes, I do keep myself updated. The recent news about the price hike in petrol and diesel is not a good thing.
