FOX Life ropes in Kalki Koechlin for an all-new travel show

FOX Life is allset to take its viewers on an epic ride through the rugged, unexplored terrains of the North East. Known for its experimental and immersive content, the channel’s upcoming show feature smulti-faceted actor Kalki Koechlin and her father Joel Koechlin. Slated to go on air in September, the show has been designed to appeal to not just traveller enthusiast but also photographers, foodies, adventure junkies and explorers who try new things and take up special interests.

FOX Life has always offered a variety of content that viewers love - from exploring a mouth-watering array of food from around the world, to fashion, to music, to party, to reality, to destinations. The new series takes this promise forward and follows Kalki on a never seen before motorbike adventure through unspoiled landscapes of the North East, battling adverse weather conditions and rocky terrains. In this ultimate journey on a motorcycle as Kalki scales 4,000 kilometres with her Dad, Joel Koechlin- her favourite travel partner and real-life travel inspiration. Joel is a legendary biker and renowned photographer who will also be seen capturing the beauty of the region and its people in full glory.

The show with its all new format breaks all stereotypes associated with celebrity travel. Celebrating the belief of living life in the moment, the series captures that a holiday isn’t necessarily about luxury and comfort, but can be about doing something different which is breaking away from the pack. Viewers will see adventures of the unconventional father-daughter duo as they cross old, narrow bridges in Tawang, sing 70s classics to entertain the public, bond with new friends and even take on each other over a game of football.

Swati Mohan, Business Head for FOX Networks Group said, “We take great pride in our original productions at FOX Life, which have always focused on 'the journey and not the destination’. We are very excited about having Kalki on our channel on this new journey which is a new take on travel adventure. Viewers will get to see her in a never-seen-before avatar; as a biker, adventurer and a daughter – and someone who wants to live life to the fullest."

Expressing her excitement about the show, Kalki Koechlin said, “It feels great to work with the team at FOX Life again. The North-East has always intrigued me and it will be quite an experience to explore the terrain on two wheels. It was not one of the comfortable, relaxing holidays but every muscle ache was worth it- the show was a dream vacation for a thrill seeker like me.”

Speaking on the association, Rudratej Singh, President Royal Enfield said, “Royal Enfield has been about nudging people towards self-discovery and exploration. With the new Himalayan we see this ‘wanderlust’ to reach even more number of people and experience adventure touring where both seasoned riders as well as enthusiasts can do more with just one motorcycle. I am sure that Kalki and Joel are experiencing this first hand as they ride the new Himalayan across the North-East exploring the diverse cultures and connecting with their inner self.”

Kalki’s Great Escape will also air on National Geographic Channel.
