Zee TV, the channel which has warmed audiences’ hearts over the years via impressive shows, is back entertaining viewers with something different from the regular saas-bahu sagas.

We are talking about the new launch, Zindagi Ki Mehek (Parin Media). Merely a couple of episodes old, the drama has already managed to create its own niche, drawing accolades from telly lovers.

The plot weaved beautifully, depicts the story of a girl named Mehek, played aptly by Sameeksha Jaiswal. She loves to cook and treat her family with scrumptious meals. When the world sleeps, she enters the kitchen, wears her apron and creates culinary magic. Like an artist, she cooks delectable delicacies, and in return all she wants is a smile on her family’s face.

Good cooking, a rare art, needs finesse and the creatives add necessary fine touches to make Mehek look real and at ease.

She has a soul wrapped in passion and ambition, but thoughts deep rooted in tradition. Hailing from a middle class setting, her character is relatable, almost to the extent of being palpable.

In one of the scenes, Mehek defying all pain and sweat, continues on her savoury journey to complete her dishes. It reminds us of all women who smilingly go through kitchen ordeals every day.

The pleasing personality of Mehek to not bog down to the pressure of being rejected by a suitable groom, shows her bold and confident nature. And she brings happiness back in her family, by making a sweet dish and cheering all of them.

Indeed a sweet-natured girl, we must say!!

The first glimpse of the male lead Karan Vohra who plays the role of Shaurya was indeed hot!!. The guy and his fitness freak body has already left us drooling and we are now curious to see more of his chemistry with Mehek.

Overall we enjoyed watching Mehek. From the dialogues to direction to acting, everything has been in place. The costumes and show set up is apt to the theme of the show.

The makers have succeeded in showcasing the Punjabi flavour. The best part about the show is that all the actors are new, and that gives it a fresh appeal with no baggage of expectations.

Overall, Mehek comes across as a breath of fresh air on TV. Three cheers for a nice beginning. And may the show have a good run.
