MUMBAI: With "Bhabiji Ghar par Hain" and "Happu Ki Ultan Paltan" doing extremely well on the telly, producer couple Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli were working on a new show called "Excuse Me Maadam" during the lockdown. The former accepted that the year has been full of challenges, and added, "It was an unpredictable one, but it has not been very unfortunate."
"We have all held hands together and come out of a big disaster. In the history of Indian television never did a television shoot stop, but due to COVID it did, and we handled this crisis financially by stepping over it together, making price-cuts that were necessary to adjust to the situation which was imperative, and necessary. We started shooting again with a lot of precautions. Not that it stopped people from falling ill, but of course, marginally a much lesser number of people were falling ill and not necessarily on the sets," Binaiferr added.
Sharing the challenges that she and her team faced during and after the lockdown, she said, "The challenges we have faced are shooting coming to a halt, having a big bank so that nothing is stopped, because it's not only the actors falling ill, if their siblings, spouses, parents or children, anyone falls ill at home, the actor is locked in for fourteen days."
What are your expectations from 2021? "In 2021, I am looking forward to the patience to see that the vaccine is given enough time to be tested, a good vaccine comes out, and a good judgment is made. I want that we help each other in every way - mentally, physically, financially, and things should start rising and we are back to normal," Binaiferr said. Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli's Edit II is known for producing excellent comedy shows and Sanjay Kohli is often called the king of comedy.
