Television actor Aamir Ali ran into a minor tiff with a traffic constable at Globus Theater in Bandra, yesterday night. Here is what happened. The actor and his wife Sanjeeda had just arrived in their car at the theater to attend the premiere of Salman’s Jai Ho. The venue was already teeming with eager fans who were jostling for space to get a dekko of their favorite actors and actresses who were trooping in to see the movie. Aamir who was at the wheel was just trying to find adequate parking space when all of a sudden there arrived a traffic constable who apparently didn’t seem to be in a good mood. Assuming a high handed manner, the cop asked the actor to move his car away. Not the one to take things lying down when you are at no fault, Aamir responded in a kind. A small war of words ensued between the two while Sanjeeda looked on. Aamir then drove away but not before giving the traffic cop a small piece of his mind. Later, we saw a senior policeman rushing towards Aamir’s car and having a quick word with him. Thankfully, it didn’t snowball into a big fight and Aamir and his wife soon walked into the theater for the premiere. When contacted, Aamir confirmed our story. “This particular cop was behaving a bit rudely. He just came to us and tried to act a bit smart. But then his senior came to us and immediately apologized. So that’s about it.” Well, all’s well that ends well, we say.
