Though he was our first Indian idol, Abhijeet Sawant couldn't quite make it to the top league of singers in the Indian music industry. However, after lurching in the dark for two years, Abhijeet is all set to capture our hearts with the launch of his second album Junoon. "I'm coming up with my second album next week titled Junoon .That's all that I can reveal now. So, if you want thorough details, you'll have to come for the launch" says an ecstatic Abhijeet. When asked what expectations he has from the new album, he replied, "It's been two years after my first album. So, its almost like a comeback. With Junoon, I hope to create a new mark for myself." Critics, particularly judges on rival shows, have stated that despite winning Indian idol, Abhijeet's career slid downwards. However, Abhijeet disagrees when he says, "With Indian idol, I tasted early success but it was accompanied by immense popularity and hype. This resulted in the increase of expectations. Also, I was a little weak in playback singing." All those who thought that our Idol was sitting idle will be shocked to hear that during this period, Abhijeet has performed in over 200 stage shows and has lent his voice in films like Aashiq Banaya Apne and Jawani Diwani. He has also sung for two other unreleased films, Mumbai.com and Fire. So, the vocalist is treading on a right path. Fame is a difficult thing to handle and often the humble ones tend to crush under it. However, Abhijeet has stayed firm on his feet. "With time, I've learned to be professional but as a person I'm still the same." remarked Abhijeet. This Mumbaikar isn't one to forget his roots. That's why he made a guest appearance on Indian Idol 3. He says, "I am quiet impressed by the quality of contestants and particularly Amit Paul, who he reckons should win the contest." His professional life is taking an upward swing but his personal life remains the same. Yes, this tall, dark and handsome Mumbaikar is still very much single. "My parents are looking for a bride, but I have no intention of settling down yet nor am I seeing anyone." says a reticent Abhijeet. As one with a million dollar smile, that impressed even Shilpa Shetty, it's a little hard to digest that no girl has fallen for him.
