Kolkata: Abhijit Roy, who has acted in films like Kanamachi Bho Bho and Tritiya Adhyay, has made his directorial debut with short films.
The actor–director is set to come up with two short films namely Agomonir Obogahon and Teen Er Namta. Abhijit and his team are planning to screen the films at various festivals before launching them online.
Speaking about his films, Abhijit said to TellyChakkar, ‘The story of Agomonir Obogahon centers on a father–daughter relationship. It is based in a village. The father dreams of educating his daughter. He does fulfill his dream. He also marries his daughter off one day…but what after her marriage? The film focuses on the fact that despite being educated, even today, women are always not allowed to participate in important discussions.’
‘Teen Er Namta revolves around a teacher, his wife, and a student. The bases of this story are relationship and trust. Many a times, it happens that we believe our eyes, which may not be true always. We should also believe our ears. The aim of the story is to highlight the significance of strengthening a relationship, where trust plays a crucial role,’ he added.
Abhijit further shared that while shooting for Agomonir Obogahon—at a location very close to Sundarbans—they received immense help from the local people.
The shooting of Teen Er Namta is complete, while a few portions of Agomonir Obogahon are remaining. Both the short films are produced by Nirmitee Vigor Exertainment.
