MUMBAI: For actress Vibhuti Thakur, her journey in the entertainment industry has been one of continuous growth and self-improvement. Without any formal training in acting, she has learned everything through real-world experiences.
Reflecting on her journey, she says, "I have evolved a lot since I first started acting. Over time, I discovered my strengths and weaknesses, learned voice modulation, and understood camera angles. These experiences have helped me become a better actor."
Vibhuti believes that acting for different mediums requires different skill sets. "TV acting needs one to hold emotions for a longer time, while advertisements require subtle expressions. Web series demand natural dialogue delivery. Understanding these nuances has been an important part of my evolution as an actor," she explains.
She credits observation as one of her biggest learning tools. "Since I didn’t go to an acting school, I observe people—their mannerisms, reactions, and emotions. I also learn a lot from my co-stars, watching how they prepare and bring their characters to life."
Vibhuti acknowledges that she still has a long way to go. "Acting is like an ocean; the learning never ends. I want to remain a student for life—curious, inquisitive, and always ready to learn."
She also praises the television industry for keeping up with changing times. "Indian TV is evolving and will continue to grow globally. Technical aspects have improved, and content has become more dynamic. Every era has had good and bad shows, but Indian television is holding its ground despite increasing competition from OTT and international content."
When asked about the impact of spirituality on set, she mentions how Rajan Shahi’s production house maintains a positive vibe. "Recently, the team celebrated 16 years with a pooja. Such spiritual practices create an uplifting atmosphere, making the work environment more harmonious."
With a deep passion for her craft and a hunger to grow, Vibhuti Thakur remains dedicated to her journey. As she beautifully sums it up with a quote, "Aag ka dariya hai, doob kar jaana hai"—a testament to her unwavering commitment to acting.
