The actress, who is currently playing the character of Mala in Sony TV’s Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka, says doing unconventional roles is the best way to get out of being typecast.
“I am playing a mother on-screen for the first time but I did not have a second thought when I was offered this role. I don't want to be ‘stereotyped’,” she says.
Vinita continues, “People keep telling that once you portray a mother on-screen you keep getting similar offers. However, I don’t agree with them. I feel being young, if you are playing an elderly character than you are challenging yourself. It’s an actor’s job to fit in every character. I take up projects which are different and demanding. I am playing a mom and exploring as an actor and I feel that is the beauty of TV.”
Talking about her association with the Barjatyas, she avers, “There are positive vibes on the set and the people around are nice. I am happy being part of the show.”
