It seems like a story taken right out from a fairy tale book!!! TV actors, though many deny, always dream to jump the crossroad and make it big in the big bad world of Bollywood. Smart, hard working and talented Sushant Singh Rajput carved a niche via his scintillating performance as Ishaan in Kai Po Che. Now, he is once again going to weave magic with YRF’s upcoming venture, Shuddh Desi Romance. But this story is not about him but his better half, the ever effervescent and charming, Ankita Lokhande. Ankita and Sushant, as we all know, ‘became a thing’ after their stint in Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta. Ankita is still a part of the show. Since yesterday, media reports have been flashing all over claiming that the lovely lady has bagged a lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan helmed Happy New Year. Who SRK? Are you kidding us? Debut opposite “the” Badshah of Bollywood? Yes, indeed, this seems to be the development. Shah Rukh spotted Ankita at the recently held IIFA awards in Macau where the latter performed a dance number. The 48-year-old actor was thoroughly impressed with Ankita’s charisma and quickly asked Farah to consider her for the movie. Edging by the wayside, several names, including that of Katrina Kaif, Shah Rukh felt that Ankita, being a Maharashtrian herself, would best fit the role of a Marathi girl. We did try to reach Ankita, but her phone was switched off. All we can say…go for it Ankita…storm the big screen!!!
