To air or not to air: Comedy Nights' last episode

The news of ace comedian Kapil Sharma pulling the shutter down on Comedy Nights With Kapil (SOL & K9) shocked one and all. At the same time emerged the news of Kapil conceptualising his own comedy show on another channel.

Diehard fans of the Colors’ comedy chat series was waiting eagerly for the final episode of Kapil’s show, where Akshay Kumar was supposed to be present for the promotion of the upcoming flick Airlift. But to everyone’s surprise it was not aired last night on its scheduled time (17 January).

In such situation what grabbed our due attention was Kapil Sharma’s tweet.

I hope @ColorsTV will air the last episode of cnwk with @akshaykumar tonight since its our way to say a gracious thanks to our audience :)

Raising our eyebrows we started to search for more info to know what exactly went wrong.

A source associated with the series stated, “Unfortunately, we are yet to get a clear picture. Even we are not sure about what went wrong. One high possibility is that the edited footage might have offended the channel or someone in particular, hence, the decision. But, right now nothing can be confirmed.”

On the contrary few other sources claimed that it was a call on the part of the programming team to air Comedy Nights Bachao on both Saturday and Sunday. Now, the final episode of Kapil’s chat show will be aired on 24 January post Bigg Boss 9 Grand Finale episode.

Hmm, we completely understand. But, don’t you think that Kapil’s tweet triggered everyone’s thought process into some other direction?

We hope as per the scheduled time, we get to witness the last episode of Comedy Nights next week.
