MUMBAI: The nation woke up to the saddening news of Mahabharat actor Pankaj Dheer's demise. The 68 year old actor passed away after his battle with cancer. Pankaj Dheer was last seen in Star Bharat show Ajooni.

TellyChakkar.com got in touch with Ayushi Khurana who played the lead role in Ajooni and shared a warm bond with Pankaj Dheer. Talking about the sad demise of the actor, Ayushi exclusively told TellyChakkar, "It is very hard to believe. I called up my director and he told me that sir wasn't keeping well for six months. I knew about his health but I never thought that this would happen. It is a big loss to the industry. He was such a phenomenal actor and equally wonderful human being. He took care of me like a baby. He was always extremely energetic and I'd wonder how he is so full of energy every time."

Khurana added, "I remember during my Ajooni days, he used to guide me a lot. I was very new and was often clueless. He would guide me about my dialogue delivery. He will always be my first mentor. He was very knowledgeable and humble."

When asked if she was in touch with Pankaj Dheer after Ajooni, Ayushi said, "I didn't meet him post Ajooni but when I came to know about his ill-health, I called him up and he answered the call with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. He told me that he would get well soon."

She further added, "I remember when Suraj and I were visiting Kashmir, he enthusiastically helped me figure out stuff. He even gave me his driver's number to help us visit different places in Kashmir. He always looked after me and helped me. I just hope and pray that his soul rests in peace and that he is not in pain anymore."

TellyChakkar extends strength to the Dheer family during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.
