Alakshmi – Humari Super Bahu on Life OK, as we know had wrapped up shoot and was all set to go off air on 21 October 2012. However, there is a new development that has unfolded over the last few days. Hats Off Productions we hear, had a closed door discussion with the channel honchos and they gave them a story line that would be a proper fodder to the channel’s weekend programming. And in accordance with that, the channel has revisited their decision of ending the show. And the news is that Alakshmi will be back on Life OK, with newer elements and more addition to the existing cast. The buzz is that the title of the show will also undergo a change, and the story line and concept will be revised. The show will now be given a weekend slot and will apparently take the 7 pm slot on the channel, and will air on Saturday and Sunday as one hour episodes. Confirming the same, producer J D Majethia told Tellychakkar.com, “Yes, Alakshmi is back on Life OK. This is a historical event on Indian TV as it is a show which had received the termination letter is back in its very next week with lots of new elements. Many of our actors had chalked up their plans as it is a festive atmosphere. Few had even started to audition outside, and we gave them a pleasant surprise. Hats Off Productions believed that we could give a nice blend of family time for viewers mixed with laughter and emotions during the weekend. And it was encouraging on part of Ajit Thakur to have trusted us and placed confidence in us.” We hear that the script is being reworked at the moment and the shoot for the new series will begin by tomorrow (21 October 2012). Alaksmi with a revised title and a fresh concept will be on air from next Saturday (27 October) on Life OK. Here’s wishing the production house and the entire unit all the very best for its second innings. Of course, kudos to the channel for taking this smart move.
