MUMBAI: For Angad Hasija, spirituality means how aware one is about their own self and surroundings. The Bidaai actor is spiritual and believes in God.

“I’m a Vishnu follower and a Narayan Bhakt. I do chanting, meditation every day. I feel it is very important to focus on these things because the more you get closer to the supreme power, the more your mind will be at peace, and you will find love, happiness and positivity. I also believe in spiritual hona ek blessing hai,” he says.

Like many others, Angad is also a believer of the ‘guru culture’. “When it’s the right time your guru calls you to help you and heal you, so you should definitely follow one. And there are two different aspects: one is god fearing and other is god loving. I’m a god-loving person. Mujhe khauf nahi hai ki main ye mantra nahi padhunga toh aisa hoga ya yeh nahi khaunga toh aisa hoga. I love and respect the supreme power, we share a beautiful bond,” he explains.

The actor feels lucky to have had spiritual experiences in life. “Not many people know about it because most of them don’t know that I’m spiritual. I think I got more into it when I came to Mumbai and did the show Phulwa, and my director gifted me a book called ‘The law of the spirit world’. That book changed my life,” he reveals.

Angad follows a certain routine. He wakes up every morning around 4-4:30 am, meditates and chants. “Everyone should do this and even if one cannot maybe chant or meditate they can try to get up early and do something fruitful, especially around 4 am as it’s called the ‘Brahma Muhurat’. Doing this makes your mind active and fresh,” says the ardent follower of Lord Krishna. He also follows the teachings of Bhagvad Gita.

The actor shares that the pandemic has been an educator. It has taught us to be compassionate and spiritual. “Rather than focussing on the negative, it taught us to stay positive and strong, take care of our loved ones and also be aware of our mental health,” he adds.

Talking about the philosophy of his life, Angad says that his purpose and philosophy is to help and care for everyone be it humans, plants, animals or anything that is part of the universe. “I feel the most important thing is kindness. We should have love for everyone, because money, fame etc are all material things and we should keep these things aside and think about people and their well being,” he ends.
