A page from the personal diary of Ankita Sharma I am a very religious person and I believe a lot in the almighty. I think God is always there to guide us through our life. And there’s this one incident that took place a couple of years ago that is very close to my heart. I feel blessed to have witnessed that moment. The festival of Navratri was on, so I visited a temple along with my mother. Though Navratri is a big occasion, the temple was empty with only the temple priest present. Incidentally, when we were performing the pooja, we heard an old lady singing a spiritual song. The woman was dressed in rags, but was extremely melodious. So when while returning from the temple, I made it a point to touch the lady’s feet and gave her Prasad. Strangely, her entire body was dark, but her palms were extremely white and clean. This got me curious and I wanted to know her whereabouts; she told us that she stays in the temple. However, when we asked the priest, he said that he was seeing the lady for the first time. But since both my mother and I are extremely spiritual, we believed that Goddess gave us a darshan and we left. When we reached home, my mother handed me a black saree which had green flowers printed on it, to give to the lady at the temple, and I did as my mother asked me to and went and gave the saree. And after that incident, we never saw the woman again. But after three years of this incident a strange thing happened. I visited a Kali temple and to my amusement I found the deity wearing the same saree my mother had asked me to handover to the female. I do realize that there are a lot of sarees with the same design, but for me looking at the Goddess wearing the same saree was a very special spiritual moment for me.
