Drishtant Media’s Aap Ki Antara has not only been an eye-opener of sorts but it has also earned Zee appreciation of being a channel which delves into social issues. Tonight the channel will air an hour-long special episode of the show focussing on Antara’s battle to emerge victorious, thereby refuting the common belief that an autistic child can’t be good at academics. According to the current track, Antara’s probable expulsion from her school after she fails in her exams leaves her parents heart-broken. But they decide to request the school principal of to give her another chance. Her parents tell the principal that like any other normal child, Antara too has a right to study in a normal school and requests him to let Antara take another exam. The principal agrees but only if she wins the upcoming inter-school Mathematics competition. Says producer Monish Sekhri, “This is an inter-school Math competition in which Abhishek, Antara and Billu are participating. Though good at Maths, Antara doesn’t win the competition but secures the third spot among all the participants. As per the deal, she may not have topped the competition but her hard work and persistence would surely pay off in the longer run. Acknowledging Antara’s efforts, her parents and teachers would persuade the Principal to give her a second chance to prove that she can match up with the normal children. As it is, the Indian Government has laid down a special rule stating that the autistic and special children will get an additional 30 minutes than the normal children for every exam.” Watch the special episode of Aap Ki Antara tonight at 10.30 pm on Zee TV.
