Is the fact that it has become the highest rated Hindi weekly serial bringing the suave Anuj Saxena back to Saara Akaash?
If industry gossip is to be believed, Anuj had turned his back on the Miditech produced show for Star Plus along with Manish Goel, complaining that the spotlight stayed too much on lead heroine Sai Deodhar. Manav Gohil too disappeared from the plot a few months ago. Now, while we don't discount their judgment, the channel and production house were said to be shifting the limelight to the pert and pretty Sai, going by viewer response.

The latest on the Air Force cum soapy serial is that Anuj has been reinstated. In some time from now, he will make his entry as a POW. The deal (is it on new terms?) was struck last week. Says Miditech CEO Nikhil Alva, "We are getting Anuj back." Wasn't he believed to be dead? "No, he was behind the enemy lines. We are looking at an episode dedicated to his great escape from the jail," offers Alva.
No prizes for guessing that Deodhar will be caught between the return of her husband and her newly induced soft feelings for Shakti Anand.
Currently though, Saxena is out of the country.
If the deal has been struck on new terms, will Saxena's earlier disenchantment be eased and the spotlight shift from Deodhar? Doesn't seem so, if you hear what Alva has to say, "We believe that 'hamari Monalika (Sai) Jassi jaissi bilkul nahin hai. Woh ek obedient beti hai, uska affair bhi hota hai aur woh desh ke liye goli bhi chala sakti hai'." Neat quip, but was the analogy necessary?
For the record, Saxena has a penchant of leaving serials midway. Not so long ago, he opted out of Asha Parekh's Kuch Pal Saath Tumhara (Sahara Manoranjan). Saxena had to embark on a foreign trip, while Parekh wanted more inputs from him. Saxena had claimed that he had co-operated in building a bank, but suddenly the channel demanded some changes. And of course, it's an old story that he was out of Kkusum too but the Queen of Soaps Ekta Kapoor decided to call him back.
With comebacks the norm now, will Goel and Gohil also return to Saara Akaash?
