KOLKATA: The occasion of Sindoor Khela at Baghajatin Tarun Sangha was graced by artists like Arindam Sil, Priyanka Sarkar, Bibriti Chatterjee, and Sayantani Guhathakurta.
Sindoor Khela is a Bengali Hindu tradition observed on Vijayadashami, the last day of Durga Puja. On Vijayadashami, married women apply sindoor on the forehead and feet of Goddess Durga. After Durga Boron, the women also apply sindoor on the idols of deities Ganesha, Kartikey, Laxmi, and Saraswati. The idols are also offered sweets. After this ritual is over, women put sindoor on one another’s forehead and face.
At the celebration of Sindoor Khela at Baghajatin Tarun Sangha, Priyanka Sarkar, who acted in Arindam Sil’s latest release Byomkesh Gotro, was also joined by her son Sahoj. Looking elegant in a traditional Bengali lal par sada saree (white saree with red border), the actress can be seen smearing her son with vermillion. The mother–son duo looked adorable.
Meanwhile, Arindam opted for casual attire, and Bibriti, also part of Byomkesh Gotro, and Sayantani wore sarees.
Here are some pictures from the celebration.
