Arunim Mishra: I empathise with my character of Rishi Sharma

MUMBAI: Actor Arunim Mishra, who plays the role of Rishi Sharma in Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah’s show  Suman Indori, says that while he is not like his character, he empathises with him. However, he relates to the love he has for his family.

“So, my character Rishi is a very simple, innocent and honest person, less aware about the grey shades of this world as we all were when we were young. The  reason he wants to be in politics is because that’s the only way he knows to grow faster in life "socially"  so that he can contribute and take care of his sisters and family,” he says.

He adds, “As for relating with him, my brain works differently, like I mentioned earlier  knowing shades of worlds corrupts you. I personally empathise with him, I have been like him in my early days. I relate a lot with his love for his family and sisters specially.”

Talking about working with Studio LSD and Prateek Sharma, he says, “Working with Prateek Sir and LSD is like working with family. I have had the opportunity to work with them earlier and it’s an actor’s delight. Recently, I had an opportunity to have a conversation one to one with him and he’s a god’s son. I owe my Television career to him. He respects the craft and knows the business as well and I love that about him.”

Meanwhile, the show was initially shot in Indore. Talking about the shoot, he says, “The whole energy of our show and core flavour is Indore, and starting our shoot from Indore was the best part, it helped us also to accumulate the energy of the city and become Indori. I have been born and brought up in Madhya Pradesh so flexing about the food and advising people to visit places was my thing.”

He adds, “Going out of our comfort zone, as an actor and as human beings, is very important I feel. If not then we become complacent and life less. In our performance, the character becomes life less if we don’t shake our comfort nerve.”

Meanwhile, he is confident that the audience will love the show. “The show is how life is, not that simple, not that complicated. They will find themselves in one character or the other.”
