Read to know what Deeksha has to say about being an actor on and off screen...
Deeksha Kanwal

Pretty and demure Deeksha Kanwal Sonalkar is on a high these days!

After portraying challenging roles in shows like Maharana Pratap, Itti Si Khushi, among others, she is currently part of Zindagi’s much popular drama Khwaabon Ki Zamin Par (Anupam Kher’s production), where she is playing a popular actress Shikha Roy.

And as they say, good things don’t come easy, accordingly the actress is also having a challenging time playing her part to the T.

Shares the actress, “The character is a very difficult yet a satisfying one. Playing a heroine on-screen is a strange feeling. My role as Shikha has seen the top in her career but her personal life is in tatters. From dating a drug addict to being molested by her boyfriend, she is emotionally shattered but wants to prove the world how strong she is. And getting into the skin of the role drains me emotionally.”

So being an actor is a boon or bane? “Yes, there is a lot of fame and love from fans but when the world wants to get into our lives, it does get pestering. With so many gossips floating around, people tend to judge you. Above all, you can’t really have a normal life and live life like normal people. Being an actor, thus, does come with a price.”

And finally talking about her interactions with Anupam Kher, the girl states, “Although he doesn’t come every day on sets, we did meet him and he shared his insights. He has a talented team that looks after the daily happenings. His brother Raju Kher keeps visiting us.”

Good luck Deeksha!
