Beintehaa is probably the best thing that has happened to me: Harshad Arora

Harshad Arora
Harshad Arora, the new boy in town is ‘living’ his dream at the moment!! Wondering why? It's hardly been nine to ten months since he entered Mumbai, the city of dreams and immediately went on to bag the lead role in Colors’ Beintehaa at the prime time slot of 9 PM. Well, who wouldn't envy this lucky man? The lucky actor confided his emotions saying, “This is my debut on TV and I am very excited about the show. This is probably the best thing that has happened to me.” Talking about his role in his debut show, he says, “Zain is a modern guy, someone who is today's man. A rich guy, who has just returned to Mumbai from London where he had gone for higher studies. He loves his family. He is also very charming and flamboyant. Though he is a very strong-headed person, there are no negative shades in him as he is humble at the same time.” What about the teaming of Aaliya (Preetika Rao) and Zain? “They have a lot of similarities between them but they belong to two different worlds. And how they fall in love is for the audiences to wait and watch.” Tell us a bit about Harshad? “A Delhiite to the core, I was born and brought up in the capital city. I have studied from Ryan International School and did my BSC, Mathematical Sciences from the Delhi University. After this I did post graduation in Marketing, Advertising and PR from YMCA, Delhi. While I was still in college, I started modelling as I won a modelling contest. After that offers kept coming and I modelled for three years. Later I worked with a public relations company for one and a half years,” he informs. “While I was working as a PR, I was constantly getting television acting offers from Mumbai. So I felt like giving it a try. I put in my papers and flew to Mumbai. Just after nine to ten months in the city I got Beintehaa. I am beintehaa khush (very happy) right now,” Harshad laughs. Ask him if he took up some acting lessons in the city and he answers, “I think acting is either in you or not. So I am working everyday on becoming better and better, but haven't taken classes yet.” How has TV been for you so far? “It's hard work; it’s basically working round the clock. But right now my focus is on making this show a big success. I just hope that the audience loves it,” he observes. Did you always want to be an actor? “I couldn’t see myself anywhere five years down the line. So I thought that since I am young I should try my luck. I tried and things worked out and I am happy now. So on the whole, this wasn't planned but this is definitely what I want to do now.” Does this actor like watching TV? “Let’s be frank, I hated watching TV earlier. It's also because you don’t get time to watch TV when you are working. And now there is hardly any time. So, I don't think that I would get to watch my own show,” he feels. Luckily for this Delhi boy his family supported him a lot. “My dad used to tell me that I should go to Mumbai and try my luck. He is the one who pushed me to be here.” How is it working with Preetika Rao? “Our director Maan is specialized in love stories. And I must say that he is doing a great job in the show. Thus the audiences will get to see the best chemistry between us here. In fact, I and Preetika always discuss our scenes and talk it out to get better inputs,” Harshad maintains. We wish you luck, Harshad!!!
