MUMBAI: Shamita Shetty might not have made a mark with her Bollywood career but she rose to instant fame with her stint on the Television reality show Bigg Boss. The actress who made her acting debut with Yash Chopra’s Mohabbatein has now shared a health update.
Shamita has now shared a video on her Instagram handle and spoken about not knowing that she suffered from a disease called ‘Endometriosis’. In the video here sister actress Shilpa asks her, “Why should they know?”, and Shamita replies, “Because you probably have it and you don’t even know you have it and it is painful. It’s uncomfortable.” Shilpa then asks, “any last words before the surgery?”
Shamita captioned it, “Did you know that almost 40 % of women suffer from Endometriosis.. and most of us are unaware of this disease!!! I want to thank both my doctors , my gynac dr Neeta Warty and my Gp dr Sunita Banerjee for not stopping til they found out the root cause of my pain! Now that I’ve had this disease surgically removed I’m looking forward to good health n now more physically pain free days ! “
Endometriosis causes painful periods, pain during and after sex, infertility and fatigue, among other issues.
On the work front, Shamita was last seen in the Hindi film ‘The Tenant’.
