Binaifer ma'am calls us her 'precious' family: Sanjay Choudhary

MUMBAI : Sanjay Choudhary is currently seen as Kamlesh in Sanjay and Binaifer Kohli's "Happu Ki Ultan Paltan". The actor, who has been a part of shows like "Lapataganj" and "Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai", says he is having a good time working with Edit II Productions and praised the producers for calling the cast of their shows as her "precious" family.

He mentioned that this is his first show with the production house and added, "The journey so far has been amazing. Whenever we message them, we always get a quick response, they always pick our phones, and it has never been that we waited to get a call back or message from them. My experience has been wonderful so far and ma'am is really sweet. They are easily approachable and she considers us as her family and also calls us as her 'precious' family. It's a big thing for us. I am very grateful and thankful to God that I am getting to work with Edit II production house."

Sanjay started his acting journey as a theatre artist and performed in Delhi for three years before moving to Mumbai. He has also been a part of Bollywood film "Mere Dad Ki Maruti". He says he found his on-screen character Kamlesh quite challenging yet relatable.

He said, "I liked the character Kamlesh a lot. He is someone who wants to talk in English but struggles with the language, similarly, in real life, my English is not that good, so I was able to relate to this character. I thought it will suit me and I enjoy doing it. I have also done a few shows with Yogesh Tripathi Ji, so that was another factor which made me choose this role. Most importantly the character was totally different and challenging, that's why I also chose it."

His on-screen character is paired up with Ashna Kishore, who essays the role of Katori Singh aka Kat. He says the off-screen bond that they share reflects in their on-screen chemistry.

"I bond well with everyone on the set. I co-operate with everyone and everyone co-operates with me. Most of my scenes in the show are with Ashna Kishore. People love our pair of Kat-Kamlesh too. Both are very similar in nature. They speak broken English, they are a little crazy but have a good heart. Ashna is a very good co-star, and a very good human being too. If I suggest some changes in any scenes, she takes it very positively. Off-screen also we share a good bond. We talk about a lot of things from family to work, everything and it feels nice to work with her. Our off-screen bond is so good that it reflects on our chemistry on-screen," he said.

"Happu Ki Ultan Paltan" recently completed 300 episodes, and Sanjay wishes to achieve many more such milestones. He said, "It is a great achievement. They had organised a cake on the set and though I was not there, they did a video call so that I can be a part of the celebration. It still feels like yesterday, and I just pray that we achieve many more such milestones."
