MUMBAI: Binaiferr Kohli, a prominent name in the Indian television industry and co-producer of beloved shows like Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, FIR, and May I Come In Madam?, along with Sanjay Kohli, known as the "King of Comedy", recently shared her insights on the trends in Indian television for 2024, the journey of her banner, and her aspirations for 2025.
According to Binaiferr, 2024 witnessed a notable shift in television content, with an increased focus on comedies and narratives featuring women who redefine their lives. “There was a trend of more comedies and shows where women, married and with children, started their lives over again, fighting for themselves,” she said, highlighting the evolving preferences of viewers.
Reflecting on 2024, Kohli called it a "superb year" for her production house Edit 2. “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! has been running for 10 years, and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan completed five years. We also brought the third season of May I Come In Madam?,” she shared. Expanding beyond television, her banner ventured into films, OTT platforms, web series, and mini-series.
Despite the successes of 2024, Binaiferr remains ambitious. “There’s nothing we couldn’t try this year. Everything is in the pipeline and will roll out in 2025,” she revealed. Her expectations for the coming year are straightforward yet profound: “Good health, happiness, work, and a balanced home life for everyone.”
When asked how she plans to make 2025 different, Kohli said, “I would like to be calmer and give myself more time, while also dedicating more time to work. Balancing both is a challenge, but as a workaholic, I’ve always managed to find a way.”
On a personal note, Kohli admitted that 2024 brought some personal losses, but professionally, it has been a fulfilling year. Her resilience and dedication continue to inspire those around her. With an impressive legacy in television and an ever-expanding portfolio, Binaiferr Kohli is set to make 2025 another milestone year, combining creativity, determination, and a passion for storytelling.
