Till now he was recognized as TV actor Shweta Keswani's firang fiance Alexx Onell. But now he has more to his credit than his personal life. Not many are cognizant of the fact that Alexx has debuted in one of the recent Bollywood hit, Cheeni Kum. He has featured as an English waiter who, as per the orders of Amitabh Bachchan, keeps chanting the Hindi pronunciation book to grasp Indian cuisines names. On being queried how he bagged Cheeni Kum, Alexx says, "I have been acting since the last ten years in U.S. In Mumbai, I have done a couple of prominent ads for products like Renova, DLF, ESES computers and Bingo Wafers. The casting director of Cheeni Kum spotted me in one of the commercial and called me for an audition, the rest is history." So how was it working with the legendary actor, Amitabh Bacchan? "It was an honour. I was in awe of him initially. I shot with him for eight days. On the first day itself, after my shot, he petted my back and said 'good job Alex'. I was surprised he knew my name. He was very gracious and down-to-earth. When I told him where I had graduated from, he said that even Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan have studied there". Alexx has also acted in a film, Lions of Punjab, in which he essayed a hotelier. He had many scenes with R.J. Naidu who's an Indian American actor. "Co-incidently Shabana Azmi and Ayesha Dharkar were also the part of the film but I have no scenes with them. The film has been circulated in festivals and is awaiting its release," he says excitedly. "I have done multiple things in my career, from counseling, to marketing, to modeling and now acting, which is my only focus now," says Alexx who has recently become a brand ambassador of a perfume, Moulin Glaciere. Bollywood….So is this firang comfortable with our rashtrabhasha? "I can understand Hindi to some extent. But come August I'll be going to Mussorie for a month to attend a Hindi coaching school recommended by Shweta's friend Tom Alter. There will be no distraction in my learning". Let's talk his personal life. Shweta and Alexx got engaged in February, so is marriage on the cards this year? "I don't know when we would get married, but it's surely not this year. My mother is in Europe and Shweta's folks are also traveling. There's always a right time for everything," he signs off.
