Read on to know about the strugglesome journey of Bollywood's renowned actor-dancer Raghav Juyal of becoming somebody from a mere nobody...

MUMBAI: Bollywood's beloved celebrity dancer Raghav Juyal is India's household fame today. But till a few years ago, the scenario was very different when he was building his fame-foundation from scratch.

He has been called the 'King of Slow Motion' for his surreal dance moves in slow-motion style and for his reinvention of the 'Slow Motion Walk' in India.

The name 'Raghav Juyal' instantly reminds us of the famous Zee TV's dance reality show Dance India Dance 3, from where it all started for him. Currently, the young dancer is the nation's one of the most admired dancers and celebrated choreographers, who also hosts many of the present day's reality shows, that air on the small-screen.

He has also acted in a few Bollywood movies, wherein he portrayed both comic and dance-oriented roles like ABCD 2, Street Dancer and Sonali Cable.

Today, let's take a note of Raghav's strugglesome yet interesting journey from the beginning, way before his stardom's days...

Raghav Juyyal hails from Dehradun (Uttarakhand). He was born to a Garhwali Brahmin family on 10th July, 1991. He completed both his schooling and graduation (in B.Com from DAV College Dehradun) from there itself.

For the unversed, Raghav first participated in another popular reality show named Chak Dhoom Dhoom and featured as a crew-dancer in Saurav Benjwal's dance crew 'D-Maniex'.

In 2012, Raghav auditioned in Delhi for Dance India Dance 3. Raghav earned insane popularity with his audition as his video went viral on YouTube. Owing to his mesmerising solo performance, he won his ticket for the 'Mumbai Mega audition'. However, as he was not professionally trained by anyone prior to coming on the show,  Raghav showcased a new dance-style that could not impress the judges enough, Hence, he could not make it to the 'Top 18' after the mega auditions were through.

However, the impact of his audition's video on YouTube on the million viewers incurred a miracle in Raghav's future career. Later on, on public demand, the show's 'Grand Master' Mithun Chakraborty made an exception in the format by reintroducing him on the show as his 'Trump Card' in the Wild Card round. Hence, Raghav found his way back to the competition and left an inevitable impression on the show's judges, other contestants and it's innumerable viewers.

On his comeback, Raghav established his position on the platform by his stage name - 'Crockroaxz'. On being asked about the etymology of his stage's name a long time back, he revealed that one day, when he was watching a programme featuring crocodiles, a cockroach accidentally came to land on him and that incident prompted him to coin the term 'crockroaxz' in general, only to use it as his stage-name later on.

There was no stopping Raghav from treading on the path of grand-success thereafter. Once he received his chance of exposure, Raghav left no stones unturned to impress one and all with his moves by performing different dance-forms and finally, he reached the finale as the 'most popular contestant' of that season by garnering most of the No. 1 positions in weekly voting.

At the Grand Finale, he received 3,481,685 votes and emerged as the show's 2nd runner-up.

After DID, Raghav first ventured into choreography as the skipper of team 'Raghav Ke Rockstars' in DID Li'l masters 2. He was the only skipper to lead both of his students - Saumya Rai and Rohan Parkdale to the show's Grand Finale, wherein Rohan and Saumya attained the 2nd and 3rd runner up positions respectively. He further choreographed many other teams in similar reality shows.

In 2014, Juyal made his first silver-screen debut in Bollywood as an actor, by playing a pivotal role in the comedy film Sonali Cable and co-starred Rhea Chakraborty and Ali Fazal therein. It was released on 17 October 2014 and Raghav was praised by the critics for his vivacious performance therein.

Next year itself, he starred in Remo D'Souza's dance film ABCD 2 and co-starred Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The show was released on 19 June 2015.

Later that year, he debuted as a host for Remo D'Souza's dance reality show Dance Plus, which aired on Star Plus. Since then, he has featured as a host for every other season of this show as well as many other reality shows like Rising Star, Dance Champions, Dil Hai Hindustani, amongst many others. He even hosted some of the television's renowned award shows.

In 2016, he participated in Colors TV's game reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 as a contestant.

Raghav continues to feature as a host for many reality shows and has even featured in few other Bollywood movies. After treading on the difficult path, his car has now taken-off in full speed on the right-track.

We wish Raghav all the best for his upcoming ventres!
