Amruta Khanvilkar has bagged the lead role in Manish Goswami's much delayed project Sixer based on the theme of cricket on Star One.
Zee's Cinestar Ki Khoj finalist, Pune's Amruta Khanvilkar debuted on television with Ada on Sahara One.
"I play a simple girl called Swati who is married to Aditya (played by actor Mohan Bhandari's son Dhruv Bhandari ). In the flashback she is shown to have had a relationship with Deva (played by Delhi based actor Pulkit). She is passionate about cricket thanks to the men in her life. Both the men are cricketers and she tries to expose Deva who is involved in match fixing," says the pretty young actor who is also preparing for her TYBCom.
She also anchors Bollywood Tonight on Zee Muzic which is a daily but for which she shoots only twice a week.
Amruta will start shooting for the show after 17 March as she is busy preparing for her final year exams. She will have an unglamorous, simple, trouser-kurti look in Sixer.
Cinestars Ki Khoj aspirants seem to be finally getting their due! Finalist, Naman Shaw is getting rave reviews for Kasamh Se while another finalist Loveleen has bagged a role in Mamta.
Sixer ,which is due for launch from a long time is ready to roll with Rati Agnihotri (for the first time on television), Rajesh Khera, and Murli Sharma. Also, Kirti Gaikwad, who was the first choice for the main lead in the show, walked out due to the delay of the project, the character then was offered to Amruta.
Here's hoping Sixer sees the light of day soon!
