Time to usher in the popular family game show Rojgere Ginni!

Yes, you read it right.

One of the longest and one of the most popular game shows for housewives across West Bengal is back.

And any guesses who will be hosting the show this time?

Well, Colors Bangla has roped in Paroma Banerjee, the first anchor of the show.

Rojgere Ginni, which started in 2001, had continued till 2012 and Paroma had anchored the show till 2010.

Commenting on her return to the show, she said, “I was always sure of the fact that I will be interested in the show if only it returns to the old flavour. If the format requires a DJ dance then they will not need me. For this, they will get many other people.”

“We are trying to give the old flavour of the show to our audience. The only difference is that earlier it was mainly city based but this time we are exploring the outskirts of Kolkata like Asansol, Bardhaman, Uttarpara, Rishra, Chandannagar, Chuchura, Bali etc.”

Paroma expressed that she is little worried about audience’s reaction to the old flavour.

She said, “The interesting part to understand here is that how much the taste and preferences of the 15-year-old audience have changed. We are curious and also little tensed about their reaction.”

The talented host said that the shooting of the game show is not an easy task.

She opined, “Rojgere Ginni might look like an easy game but shooting of the same is really difficult. I believe it is not exactly a game show. It is actually a documentary and a reality shown in the real sense.”

“It does not have any particular format. The only format we follow here is playing of the games and distribution of the prizes and rest is variable. Every day we visit a new place,” she added.

Paroma feels that her age will help her to understand the participants and host the game better.

She quipped, “When I first hosted Rojgere Ginni I was 26. I have grown with the show. I feel today at 42 with my maturity and the way I have looked at life, I will be able to handle the show in a better way.”

Although Paroma has become a well-known name but she does not consider her a celeb.

The pretty lady said, “I was never a celebrity. Rojgere ginni made me one. However, I do not consider myself a celebrity. I have always remained a normal middle class woman and I want to live that way.”

Good luck for the show, Paroma!

Produced by TV Wala Media, it will start from 17 October, airing Monday to Saturday, 5.30 pm.
