MUMBAI: Fashion designer Swapnil Shinde has come out as a transwoman and shared new photos with a statement on Instagram.

Now named Saisha Shinde, penned a note on Instagram about 'not being a gay man but a transwoman' and revealed the new look. Several celebrities dropped praiseworthy and heart-warming comments on Saisha's post and new photos shared on Instagram page.

Saisha stated that it has been difficult to get the identity as a transwoman in society and without identity everything is difficult in life. She further added that people make films on transwomen or talk about giving them equal rights but in reality things are very different because there is no acceptance in society. She revealed that from finding a house for herself to getting her aadhar card made everything has been tough.

For the uninitiated, celebrity fashion designer Saisha Shinde (formerly Swapnil Shinde) has dressed the likes of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sunny Leone, Bhumi Pednekar, and Shraddha Kapoor amongst others.

In the premiere episode of Lock Upp, Saisha was not the only one to enter the show. Along with her 13 other popular contestants walked inside the badass jail. Karanvir Bohra, Poonam Pandey, Tehseen Poonawalla, Sara Khan, Nisha Rawal, Munawar Faruqui, Swami Chakrapani Maharaj, Payal Rohatgi, Babita Phogat, Shivam Sharma, Anjali Arora, Siddharth Sharma.

The episode will be aired from Monday to Friday at 10 PM and the weekend episodes will be hosted by Kangana Ranaut.
