Mehul Kajaria better known as Harsh Virani of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star Plus) and last seen in Jeet Jayenge Hum (Sony Entertainment Television) is back on TV. This talented actor will play a colorful negative character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s maiden TV production based on the famous Gujarati novel Saraswatichandra (Star Plus) written by Govardhanram Tripathi. “I don’t know much about my character except that I come from the girl’s side. Since I have also been asked to block 25 days every month, so I assume it will be a meaty role,” said Mehul. Mehul is quite gung-ho about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali production for this Star Plus show. “They give detailed attention to every small aspects of production. Their grandeur in films (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Black and Saawariya) will surely be carried to the small screen as well.” So have you read the novel? “No, it is too long and is in four parts but it is a well known fact that Saraswatichandra is one of the greatest works of Gujarati literature and I am proud to be part of it as I belong to the same caste as well.” All along his ten year long career Mehul has been quite lucky to have got to play diverse roles. “I began with cute characters in Kehta Hai Dil and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Then I did negative avatars in Sati (Sahara) and Babul Ka Aangann Chootey (Sony). And I am continuing the same. I personally prefer such grey characters.” Furthermore, he also no qualms that he has not done any major lead characters. “I was one of the three leads in Teen Bahuraniyaan (Zee TV). I prefer to be known as a good actor rather than a star. I have constantly worked in both TV and stage. It was one such super hit Gujarati play Ek Sawario Bijo Bawario (200 shows all over the country) which kept me busy for the past two years. Hence I could not do TV. Incidentally when the play ended I landed this new role,” he ended. We wish you all the very best, Mehul!!!
